Number of ingredients – 7 and 1 optional

I found the prep quite simple for this recipe, there was nothing too out of the ordinary. I did need to go and buy some apple cider vinegar, but that’s okay as it keeps well and I’ll definitely use it again.

Making the Recipe – ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The recipe is really quite simple and easy to follow, no tricky procedures (apart from separating those pesky eggs – but you get the hang of it and I do have a handy egg separator gadget from Tupperware!)

PRO TIP

This is not on the recipe. Once you’ve combined the ingredients – let it sit in the bowl for about 10 minutes to thicken up. The Psyllium Husks will absorb some of that moisture making it easier to work with and easier to shape your buns!

Cooking Time – ♥ ♥

These need to cook for a long time – approx 50 to 60 minutes so they are NOT a quick option. BUT they do freeze well. So you can cook in advance and pop the rest in the freezer and then you’ve got them handy for next time!

Cooking Method – ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Easy Peasy on a lined baking tray (use baking paper) and just pop in the oven!

Taste – how does it stack up? – ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The claim.

“Smear with butter, and you will think you are eating the real thing! This keto bread sports a pleasing crispy crust with a soft, moist center.”

Does it? Does it REALLY?

YES IT DOES!

Ok, so these taste AMAZING. It really does just taste like real wholemeal bread. There’s no yucky after taste. The consistency is very bread like. It does NOT toast well, but you can warm them up in the microwave and lavish with real butter then top with whatever you want!

NOTE: These buns are VERY filling. My eyes were bigger than my belly here. One would have been plenty! It was nice to have a burger again though!

  1. Great recipe! You can just whisk the eggs instead of using beaters. I did find that if does toast well though and makes delicious garlic bread

    1. Thanks for the tip LJ. I couldn’t get mine to toast in the toaster or under the griller. Do you have any tips? It went crunchy around the edges, but the bread part didn’t brown up or toast for me.
